Privacy Policy

Overview

Berries & Dates is designed to work without developer-operated servers, advertising, analytics, or tracking. Todd Perlmutter does not receive your Contacts data, calendar entries, or app activity.

Contacts

With your permission, the app reads names and date fields from Contacts to identify birthdays, anniversaries, and custom dates. Contact information is processed on your device and is not uploaded to the developer.

Calendars

With your permission, the app creates, updates, and removes Berries & Dates entries in the calendar you select. Those entries are stored in your calendar account. Apple iCloud or another calendar provider may sync them according to that provider's terms and privacy policy, but the developer does not receive them.

Settings and iCloud

App preferences and the managed-event manifest stay on your device unless you enable Sync with iCloud. When enabled, preferences are stored in Apple's iCloud Key-Value Storage and the manifest is stored in the app's private iCloud container under your Apple ID. The manifest includes managed contact names, date types, dates, titles, and ownership identifiers so historical calendar entries can be validated and restored. The developer does not receive this information.

Apple Privacy Disclosures

The privacy manifest bundled with Berries & Dates declares that the app does not track you or collect data for the developer. It declares access to app-private UserDefaults solely to save settings. Contacts and Calendar access remain controlled by the permissions you grant in iOS.

Notifications

With your permission, Berries & Dates can display a local notification after a background sync changes the managed calendar. The notification contains only the number of contact dates synced, not contact names or individual dates. It is generated on your device and is not sent to the developer.

Optional Tips

The Tip Jar offers optional, repeatable consumable in-app purchases that do not unlock features or content. Apple processes each purchase. Berries & Dates does not receive your payment details, and consumable tips cannot be restored.

Data Sharing

Berries & Dates does not sell personal information, share it with advertisers or data brokers, display advertising, or include third-party analytics SDKs.

Your Choices and Retention

You can revoke Contacts, Calendar, or Notifications access in iOS Settings, disable iCloud settings sync in the app, change the selected calendar, or delete calendar entries and calendars in Apple Calendar. Removing the app may not automatically remove calendars, events, or settings already stored by iOS or iCloud.

Changes and Contact

This policy may be updated if the app's features or data practices change. The effective date will be revised when that happens. Privacy questions can be sent to support@berriesanddates.app.
